Brevard Outpatient Alternative Treatment is a State Licensed Drug and Alcohol treatment facility, specializing in providing
Structured Outpatient Treatment for adolescents, adults and families. B.O.A.T. works to provide comprehensive services
to the community of Brevard, assisting individuals to recover and maintain a healthy and productive life.
The Organization
B.O.A.T. was founded in 1980 as Brevard Outpatient Alternative Treatment eventually becoming Progressive Counselling
Centers, Inc. by CEO John W. Holdsworth, M.S., to assist adolescents who were
falling through the cracks. The philosophy of the program is
to provide a realistic- and performance-based approach in dealing with adolescents, adults and families
Services
B.O.A.T. offers a variety of services and specialty tracks including, Adolescent Substance Abuse, Adolescent
Behavioral, Adult Substance Abuse, DUI, and Dysfunctional Family/Adult. The full complement of therapeutic services
enables B.O.A.T. to provide results-oriented individualized treatment. Additional treatment components provided
include Family Therapy, Individual Therapy for Family Members and Marital Therapy.
The services provided weekly include: Adolescent Individual, Group and Parent Group therapeutic treatment.
The adult program consists of Individual, Group and Family treatment as needed. Services are offered by Licensed,
Professional Staff.
Financial Costs and Services
B.O.A.T. is a for-profit organization, with various payment methods made available to our vast clientele.
Our services are covered by some insurances. Sliding fees are available for families that are economically unable
to cover therapeutic costs. In addition, we have contracts with Family Service Planning Team, (F.S.P.T.), and Temporary
Assistance for Needy Families, (T.A.N.F.), who can cover a portion or total cost of treatment based on
total household income. These funds however, can only be utilized as the money is available. B.O.A.T. is
currently not a Medicaid provider.
